Just finished James Joyce's Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Malcom Gladwell's David and Goliath and a comic book (excuse me... graphic novel ) version of Lafcadio Hearns' Japanese Ghost Stories (Kaidan... the movie's better). I've still got Joyce's Dubliners and Finnegan's Wake in the stack beside my chair, along with Hemingway's Islands in the Stream and A Farewell to Arms (which I've read before, but Hemingway's almost always worth re-reading). For variety, Trevor Noah's Born a Crime is also in the stack. For light reading I added to the stack a book my next-door neighbor just published entitled Broken Bargain, about the threat to the American financial system.

Everything offends
somebody . .
But then an apple
a day keeps everyone
away . . . . If it's
thrown hard enough.
