So what Are You Reading?

~ I Just started a book called "The Four Agreements": A Practical Guide To Personal Freedom, By Don Miguel Ruiz ( Awesome book) I highly recommend it for these hard times It's the second time I've read and it's an easy read.

~I'm also reading a book called, "Lust & Wonder", By Augusten Burroughs. He is one of my favorite authors.

~So what are you reading???

I read Running with Scissors back when it was first published and what a bizarre trip that was. I recall Dr Finch's family started a lawsuit after he died...for defamation, I think. I don't remember what came of it.

I'm currently reading Soul Kitchen by Poppy Z. Brite
Yes, I've read all of Burroughs books to date, "Dry" is my favorite so far.

"The Last Disciple"......by Jamie Holmes. Jamie is a local newscaster and this book is so not like his personality.....he's upbeat, fast with a quip or joke. This book is very relevant for this time and the experiences we are all having.
I've never heard of it, but, I hope you're enjoying it.

I have The Four Agreements on the table next to my reading chair. I pull it out every once in a while and read it because I was once called "impeccable" by the girl who gave it to me years ago. I'm not, but reading it reminds my to try to be.

I just finished reading Sapiens, a Brief History of Humankind by Israeli PhD Yuval Noah Harari, another gift, this time from my son. It provides a lot of insight into all the things we think we know, but really don't. Like the difference between things and concepts, why humans came to be the dominant species and what has happened as a consequence. Very informative for all those blogging here about politics. A shame they'll never read it. Even more important for those who seek to understand how we came to be what we are, and perhaps where we are going. It's published in over 50 languages. I agree with the endorsement from Bill Gates "you'll have a hard time putting it down". Harari makes a lot of difficult stuff fun and engaging It's amazing what archeologists can figure out.

Otherwise I'm reading a lot of erotic schlock.
Oh, my Goddess, you are reading a lot. I'll have to come back and pick something from your list. But the erotic shlock looks promising.

I'm reading the unabridged version of Moby Dick. It's awesome. What I'm reading in non fiction most people wouldn't be interested in. Python and SQL.
I've always wanted to read the original Moby Dick. I'm sure I'll have time to as all I do nowadays is read. Thanks for sharing

On audio i'm currently listening to Woody Allen's memoirs, Apropos of Nothing.
Yes i know, it's a strange choice considering but after reading the reviews saying he damns himself i wanted to read/listen for myself.
I'm also reading Chris Carter's Hunting Evil ... i do love a good serial killer book !
I'm a big Woody fan, though some of the themes in his flicks are overworked. I may give his memoirs a shot, though I did that with Mark Twain and came away disappointed. You may like Brit writerPhilip Kerr's work if you like solving murders and such in the Weimar Republic and Nazi Germany.

Oh, the Woody Allen book does sound interesting. He's been accused of some awful stuff.
I hope you are doing well, Woody.
