Relationships It’s easy to make your relationships more complicated than they have to be. Believe me, I have a Ph.D. in fucking up good things… so, as a walking cautionary tale, I offer a few simple tips that over the years I’ve stored in my 3lb squishy walnut… hopefully they help.  1. All successful relationships require some work. They don’t just happen or maintain themselves. Do the work. 2. Most of the time you get what you put in. If you want love, give love. If you’d like to feel understood, try being more understanding. Try to match each other’s energy. 3. Never force someone to make a space in their life for you. If they know your worth, they will create time and space for you. 4. You are the only one in control of your own happiness. If your relationship with yourself isn’t working, don’t expect your other relationships to be any different. 5. You can’t change people; they can only change themselves. Instead of wasting time trying to force others to change, give them your support. 6. Small gestures of kindness go a long way. Be kind. Be kinder than you have to be. 7. Communication is essential. Listen with intent. Open up and express your needs. Very very very few partners have ESP and can simply read your mind. daily-esprit-descalier  "Men need to hunt. She obviously understands this.
