It’s The Care Before The After It’s the gagging, the pressure on soft tissue, the force against humankind of fragility, and the resultant gasps for survival. It’s the stinging smacks on soft thighs, the harsh nettle slaps blooming like wildfire until sore. It’s the choke that meets ruby red lips soon turned to forget-me-not blue and eyes leaking salvation. Its torn underwear and pink flesh pulsing engorged and wet at a violent invasion. It is indeterminable screams soaked into pillows and muffled moans that reduce like boiling water. It is angry half-moons with a purple hue, nails embedded into previously unmarred skin. It is hair straining silently at the root, over and over, taught then limp until greasy to the touch. It is tears of intensity, love, and horror in equal measures, adoration like a shot of tequila burning the throat along with the memory of what just happened. It is stroking shoulders and lullabies, soft caresses, and hungry stares. It is appreciation and pride, wounds kissed, and long sighs of relief and recovery. It is shutting the world out, dwelling in dark rooms and whispering darker dreams, dripping honey into straining ears to reach restless hearts.
