Subspace - A Journey To That Other Place I love that moment when you begin to leave me and depart on a journey to that other place, the one where there is only sensation, concentration, and withdrawal. It is a short trip to a very distant locale, one that is right here yet far away and deep inside. At the destination you are awash in a flood of physical sensations, your mind shut down but for registering pleasure and pain, your eyes seeing nothing but a rainbow of colors splashed across the palate of your mind in concert with the symphony of sensations. It is like a hallucinogenic trip, an out-of-body experience, and yet you have never felt your body so intensely. There you swim in the rushing white water rapids of sensation and light until I bring you slowly and gently back again. Back to my waiting arms and the tender, comforting, loving reality that is Us. When we play it is not always about service to me. Sometimes it is about removing the attention completely from me, allowing me to fade into the background, and turning your entire focus inward on yourself. I love it when my Lady goes to subspace. So vulnerable, but so protected by me at the same time.

There are a lot of people on this site for whom subspace is more than a journey. They learn to go into an alter mental state during abuse and over the years they are in that space so much that they remain in an altered state of mind to one degree or another.

Subspace is where the congnizant mind finds fuel for an empty tank. It is the threshold through which the lioness enters. It is the abyss beyond the edge. For those of us that train minds it is our forte'
