The Simon Raven poem, it should be noted, is his adaptation of a longer poem by James Elroy Flecker (from his play "Hassam"). Simon Raven's re-working was done for use in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and was intoned therein by no less than the incomparable Diana Rigg. A very lovely verse from a very lovely lady.
