Be aware the criminal who now owns this site who steals from users credit cards an extra months payment when you cancel gold.

If this same criminal did not give free gold memberships to Nigerian love scammers in massive numbers then users here would be far less suspicious.

It has been a serious problem since the new owner took over, that no profiles are validated to ensure they are legitimate users anymore.

I totally understand anybody getting offended when users here doubt that you are genuine.

Good post and best of luck with your search.

Great advice and a very worthwhile post IMHO. Just a shame it is needed.
Quite shocked to hear women on this site get hit by scammers. Along with all the fakes, cheaters and liars it is a wonder there are any real women here.

Great post Jen. I have experienced many scammers and like you have had a great deal of fun with them stringing them along and seeing how far they will go.
A common scam from a USA based domme is that they are about to move to the UK. Eventually they want gift cards etc. to purchase domination equipment from a specific supplier as they want it personalised etc. In most instances they can't even supply a town to where they are allegedly moving let alone an address or date of travel. Pinning them down on a date is great as it is usually 'next week' so the next time you see them why aren't they in England and how come they still do not know where they are moving to?
I have met 2 genuine dommes on here who make no charges whatsover so it is perhaps worth persevering.
I will also use a couple of your tips (like the shoe thing) that i have not tried previously so thanks for your post.
Perhaps we should have a blog that just names and shames scammers as a quick reference point.
Finally, i would add that it doesn't seem to matter whether they are full members or not. Most want to chat on hangouts or kik or skype.

Thank you for sharing this Jen
Would you believe that I was actually scammed by a girl from Liverpool in 2003 that I had met twice? We had two dates, one with play, then she contacted Me with a tale of "Her car broke down on the way home" and could she borrow some money to get a tow truck out. It was only £200 (which was about right) so I did. The moment the money landed she disappeared never to be heard of again ~laughs~ so it was an expensive playdate!

Thanks for posting Jen. I must be on a list of, don't bother, he catches on too quick or something. Have not been getting scam email and such the past few weeks. But I see plenty of fake/scam profiles still.

First of all, a big THANK YOU. That took a lot of time to write, but very much appreciated.

My experience has been that it has only gotten worse over the last decade (I have been off and on here... crap... I think even longer... now I feel old )

For me, I start with images. Searching on the Goog does not give as good as results as Yand. If you are seeing fashion / general stylish but sexy images, a lot of times these are Russians social media accounts.

For me. I find a ton of Mistress / Fetish Model out of Europe, as well as some can be real, but then interject other pictures in with theirs. As an example, there is a person who has been on here for years, but in their pictures is a leg shot with heels and hose and know that is a Mistress whom I knew out in the Mid West.

If these people message me, I simply ask why they are using so and so pictures and sometimes send them a picture from the same series they are using. They normally just block me after that. Alt does not mind, because they get their cut, and by that I mean subscriptions. Almost all who have tried to scam me - about 10 in 4 days, have been Gold members. M_stressOliv_a24 (name masked slightly) for example is in Ohio, but images are Lady Asmodena of Germany. I even asked if thety moved. Very few are standard. A couple are legit, but are money scammers in general - One who is on here appears to be the same as a person on Twitter who just looks to be a findom or looking for Pay Pigs, so here is branching out when slow.

But remember - as frustrating as it can be, this site IS NOT about matching you up. It is about selling subscriptions. Years ago, I pointed out about a dozen things which whould make the site more effective for searching and finding. To date none of those have been done, and with good reason - the core of the posters main premise.

So again, from my experience at least - These scammers are tolerated or encouraged by the site, because for their biggest reach, they generally are paying gold members who see this as a business investment. I think the majority are posting as women, and from what I have seen, my guess is upwards of 25% of the women accounts I have seen are scammers, might be high as 40

Also please note - Alt numbers LIE in terns of people here. Not coincidentally by about 30%. Just to cherry pick and make it easy - Wyoming has 3894 "lististings" on the browse page. MW seeking men lists 37 - If you click through to see all 37, you get 25.

Jen, hello. A very true and accurate post. I am impressed by the objectivity and the way you presented it. I wrote a few (5) blogs on here about being scammed but none of this caliber.
Again thank you for the post and have a nice day....
Kisses

So far, everyone that's contacted me is a scammer looking for money. I don't think there's a real person on this site.

How much can the webmaster see? Possible everything on some hardrives? Kinda thinking out loud. But how can one even be a VIP? And say if one was gullible enough to give a gift card, say $50. How could they double that when buying the gift card? So that your out a hundred? I kept saying no way got to have a video chat or skype and an address. This was a VIP. As soon as I mentioned this to another girl, she soon no longer had a VIP tag. Damn like shooting fish in a barrel. Oh, and they'll be about you local communities too I bet! There is more to this. Its late though.

Ask for bank details and when you get them.. Note that it will be under a males name or a business name in another state. I caught one out on this as i traced the bank account and owner then informed the so called woman and she / it made out she/it didnt know what i was talking about. I told her she was a scammer but she protested and saidi was a liar and not loyal to her etc.
They base things on loyalty to them and use that as a string to manipulate the person they are scamming.
When you get their first email, check their grammar.. they all use the same opening line.
I am a Mistress"Name" and i am looking for a obedient serious man to do a good will thing to him and a total guide. my search is strictly for a submissive man sincerely aware of his place in the BDSM world etc etc.. .
Note how the paragraph makes no sense.then they will tell you to email them on a private account or whats.app or Skyype or G.mail account..

    Quoting Mukster007:

Approximately 7 out of 10 that have contacted me are scammers, basically looking for a payout to get out of a bad situation.

First of all, thanks Jen for your post. While I understand that women are being conned by these low lifes, it is predominantly a male problem, and it's good to see a member of the opposite sex support our interests' and speak out. There is not a lot more that I can add to what has been posted by all in this blog so far, but I do have grave concerns as to the ethics of the site owners. Firstly, I am highly suspicious that they are not only supporting, but complicit in the actions of the fake profiles. I've worked in law enforcement and believe me, there are many things about this website that seriously cause a raised eyebrow. I won't go into detail here, as it may compromise some of the methods held tightly by the law enforcement community. I will say this though, this site has severe security flaws, and anyone paying for membership should change their card number immediately after payment is processed. Also, NEVER confirm your profile. This takes private information such as a drivers license photo image, which you should never do without being very sure of who gets the image. It may even be illegal in some areas. Please everyone, think hard before you act, it's not just your wallet you are protecting, it's your identity, a much harder thing to regain control of once lost.

Also Alt is the biggest scammer of all. I have come to this conclusion after sending my last 10 messages at a cost of 100 points. None of the messages have been successfully delivered as the people are simply not online and yet appear in IM sometimes for several hours. This is to give the impression there are more users and more people online than there are.

An excellent post, well written. There are so many scammers on here it is like a pandemic. I have highlighted in my profile that under no circumstances do I send funds to anybody over the internet. So don't even go there as it ain't gonna happen. However I will pay for their travel expenses when they actually arrive at the said location with a valid receipt and a ticket.
It is a strict rule that I emphasise when they start to ask for funds. They either start with the sob story, or they get really shitty. Saying that if I really wanted them and was serious I would pay for them to travel. "YEAH RIGHT - I DON'T THINK SO".
They will try all sorts of ways to try and extract funds from you. My answer is just keep telling them NO, eventually they get the message.
I even ask them if they have actually read my profile as I clearly states no fund up front. Needless to say they soon dissappear.
The best one I outed was with stolen photos of a porn star. When I messaged them they called me a filthy pig and told me to get a job. So I put up a screenshot of the photos on the site. Then did the same via a direct email to the abuse team. Surprise it soon dissappeared.
There is at the moment a persistant skyper that puts up the same profile every day but with a different name. I immediately take a screenshot of the profile, then wait till the scammer starts to broadcast and advertises their skype address, take another screenshot of the broadcast and send both directly to the Abuse team. It doesn't take long to take them down.
If howeve the profile is still up after an hour or so, I resend the email with a reminder that I had reported this once and why is it still live? The same happens on another site owned by the same people as this site. The same skype scammer, every day.
Take care everyone, and keep pissing the scammers off with whatever tricks you play on them.
