Becky had a guitar.

And she'd play it and write songs about what she felt at that time.
This new apocalyptic World had little time for love though, and Becky didn't actually know what love was, but that didn't stop her trying to grasp it with her lyrics.
So she'd pieced together lyrics from old songs and imagined that love had an urgency about it.
It was impatient but girded by fate.
She picked up her guitar and began to strum adding the new lines to her song.
"Love is strong."
"Love is wrong !"
"Let's find peace and learn how to get along !"
Andrea said "Hey I like that Bec, you should keep that in there."
I enjoyed watching the way these two interacted with each other and felt relaxed.
They prompted me to give them a story about how I lived in pre-apocalypse time, so I did.
"I grew up on a farm", I told them.
"We were simple farm types and didn't have much money but what we lacked there we made up for in other ways."
"There was always something going on and my ma was usually onto it."
"We all knew to keep on the right side of her lest she'd get out her switch to teach us a lesson."
When we were young when my sister and I got into trouble she'd take to one over her knee whilst the other had to look on and wait for their turn."
"It was that that really inspired me to go forth into the World with a sense of expectation."
"I remember being taunted by some boys whom I found going across a shortcut through our property and when I confronted them they joked about hearing I had a dick."

I replied "You're too little to understand how I could hurt you with it I countered."
They looked a little confused and my sister who'd come out looking for cotton tails snuck over behind them with her shot gun in place should they not co-operate.
"She asked them questions and pointed her gun at the balls of the one speaking to get the truth out of them."
"It was so funny to see how those little b*ys reacted with a shotgun pointed at there weeny bits. Of course it was not loaded, just my sister having a little fun."
"I learned a lot from my elder sister and now I'm on my way to find and help her in return for what she did for me."
They looked approving at that and wished for me to find my sis.
The day went on quiet and uneventful and I decided to use one of my few remaining matches to light a fire as I thought it would be nice as the night fell and it got cooler.
But we ran the risk of drawing attention to ourselves by the preying grifters.
But all was okay and Becky even managed to find a can of tinned ham that we fried on a piece of iron we'd scrounged from the nearby dump.
The warm food felt good in our tummies and soon we discussed our next move as it was obvious we would be better off as a team.
Andrea picked up a stick and began to draw in the dirt a map of where we had to go.
