"I'm not from around here!" After a courteous introduction she explained how she'd survived the apocalypse in her bunker and she said she'd show me it if I'd later take her on a trip with my time machine as she had unfinished business in the past. I checked out the range of entertainment items in her bunker and we watched a short dance film. It amazed me how convivial people were and they obviously had no idea of how the perils would stack up against humanity. There was a war but that wasn't the end of it, no only the start and then the compass points began to move and then the continents began to shift. This was all new to me and I could suddenly see how people were wasting their time when they should have been working furiously to prepare for what was coming. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered! |
