No room for human. And words could perhaps describe what that once was. For a new way to exist beckoned but darkness exerted its pull. Once it was only the freshness of the forest, and boundless and fenceless country villages and meadows. Somehow I'd stayed there rejecting the moves of the expansionists and avoiding the unwise pitfalls. In another place they embraced it and they lived in small defendable places. Time spent dreaming was diametrically opposed to that. Machines were programmed to find an edge and soon it was time to leave the planet as you weren't safe there anymore. Now it was about stealth and keen edged minds won the battles. But those new minds were colder, different from their fold. And cold souls began to populate space. They'd wait there for any sign of warmth, to run the same experiment again but each time the same outcome. It was a cruel twist of biology that enabled that. When we tried to define what biology was it had a nasty way of getting complicated. It seemed nothing was impossible, but it sometimes got stuck. We know things now that our ancient progenitors had no clue of. Of a land lost in time for 180 million years where dinosaurs lived out every day the same way like an eternal procession. Biology recorded that too and those days became burnt into the dna molecule. In that molecule was a haunting of those day of fear, of being stalked and of feeling trapped with no way out. It was the power of biology. And we see that in rare cases the mind misbehaves and displays unworkable genius making the life experience of those unpleasant. It was not all 'a bundle of roses' afterall. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered! |

Now a comfy place hidden away from wild animals and the ring of steel was found to figure it out. Imagine my surprise when I found out that my opinion actually mattered!

some sy-fi writers back in my day had the "fallen man" theme, where the first men were brilliant - and after what ever event caused their fall - through the aeons we some times touch their past glory.
