1987 called and wants its customer service back

So yeah my roommate gets home and all the food in the bottom freezer went bad..

The freezer was totally defosted...

Wtf?..

So i went online and chatted with a nice fellow from bombay india.

Now i am not a samson customer support staff...and doubting neither was he..

Most likely he had a script and a big binder of what to try first

And yep..straight of 1980s tech he told to unplug it..

That line didnt fix anything in 1984...and wasnt fixing anything in 2019.

So he had push two buttons to run the diagnosis process. It came back as error 40 e..

Which was helpful until i asked him what that error message meant..

This is the part where he tried to slip in the pitch for me to order up their tech.

2 seconds later goggle told i had a faulty temp sensor/ and or fan. Youtube showed how to fix it

So i told him that info.. i should have asked if they were hiring.

He actually thanked ..

He then asked if he could schedule a tech visit.

Now normally this is the part where this plugger nickle and dimes it to death and kicks the can down the road. Buys a few parts, gets his duct tape and gets it done...and then chugs a big beer.

But alas most major appliances are becoming desposible..
You get 6-9 yrs of a fridge...you used to get 20..

But between the freakin ice maker constantly leaking, the bottom handle broke off and the unit has to be least 6 yrs old..

I think it is just time to a new one.. by the way leaky ice makers are the one problem with fridges..

You may ask..really you may..why didnt this plugger just put a new ice maker in?

Mine has a coil that must be pulled down for the icemaker unit to release...to put a new one in.
If you damage that coil in anyway you lose the freon and your whole fridge.

Is toast.

Ive been living with a leaky, crappy ice maker for over two years.,

And it isnt even a samson ice maker..its some 3rd part pos
