After I saw an article about renaming Master bedrooms, I wondered this same thing. Be interesting to see how the community handles it.

What does the term "Daddy" actually mean? What is its origin? It has always seemed a little vague to me.

Enforced slavery has been around as long as civilisation (and "civilisation" is a word which has debateable historical origins). Anyone could be subjected to slavery regardless of race, religion, nationality, etc. So, historically it's all about cheap labour, not racism. Yes, the Afro/American slave trade was based on perceived white superiority, so was clearly racist based.

In terms of the BDSM community the relationship is consensual and that makes a huge difference. So, my view is that wanting to stop using the term Master/slave is not racist and is a good description for the relationship.

P.S. If the relationship is not consensual then it's not BDSM.

Well said! We get our daily fill of sjw censorship living on the West Coast and we'd be opposed to jumping on that bandwagon. Think about it, this community encourages acceptance and open communication of countless activities, interests and desires that are deemed unacceptable by the majority. Accepting censorship from any group is antithetical to the reason why we're all here. Do what you want to behind your own doors, but currying favor with any group that KNOWS "right vs wrong" has never worked and we doubt it will this time.

I can only say during these crazy times I am grateful I have master.
