Potatoe head....have we gone too far See below |

Maybe you heard hasbro is changing the " mr." Potatoe head name to simply potatoe head. In a bid to be more gender neutral to children And ofcourse both sides are on full twitter alert...key board warriors roll out ready to do battle...release the karens.. And it's much ado about nothing. I really hate the arguement from both sides when it comes to being gender neutral. Could care less if people dont wish to assign a gender to their driver's licenses or other governmental forms. You be you. I cant stand the right for making arguement that a toy defines or shapes gender or gender identity. It's the tired old arguement that a boy playing with dolls/ taking ballet etc will turn him gay. .. Now to modernize the arguement..will make him female,transgendered,etc. But i cant stand the left's argument ( in the article)that a girl playing with traditional girl's toys turns her into a victim and holds her back... The example given: well if she was allowed to build with blocks like a boy..she could become an engineer. Or worse..boys playing with say marvel action figures retards their emotional growth. If they played with dolls then they would have more empathy and better release for their emotions. ???i kidd you not..this arguement is directly presented in the article First off blocks alone dont magically turn a boy into an engineer. Second i'm literally tired of the arguement that men need to be more like women/ men need to cry more/ men need to be taught to deal with their emotions. Maybe you noticed there are biological differences between women and men. Yet women are the standard when it comes to emotions. For example in 40 years i cried 3 times( death of my mom,my cat,my dog). Yet a woman may simply cry over a tv show. Does that mean im wrong? That im deficient? And somehow playing with dolls would change this?? This gender toy swap arguement is tired and old. It's based on women being societies' victim and boys need to be reeducated for there is something wrong with them. Cant we just let toys be toys?

I agree everything has to go way beyond what it is. A toy is a toy. I remember there was a Mr and Mrs Potato head. No matter what the toy is, let your kid play with it, I know I don't care.

But why cant they make a non gendered version or a new non gendered toy.. Im tired of random race/gender swaps in movies. If the character is white/ male he needs to go??? And oddly i feel turning a male toy into a non gender one sorta undermines the need to have males/ toys/ movies suited to them. Your giving the transgendered more rights by stuff others into boxes

I heard that the toy in general is being called Potato Head but there is still a Mister and Misses Potatohead designation
