First off dont care about your politics..dont care about your platform or your 10 seconds in the lime light. Did these soccer stars give a fuck about this 98yr old man and his platform..his chance to shine.. to play his harmonica..for christ's sake he fought the fucking nazis. Does that mean nothing to this younger generation? Just imagine you getting the oppertunity to play before thousands of people And then some spoiled bitches turn their back to you.. And literally shit over this hero..fuck you might as well spit on him. Funny how we wish to build statues to the " essential worker".. but a vet?..er let's protest anyway.. Are you fucking serious!!! .How dare these players drawn attention away from this man and his moment..steal his platform...silence his voice And let's get real none of the players are from the hood...they all come from well to do household. It's the only way they can afford tournaments,special leagues,extra coaching sessions etc.. They could of had some class and skipped protesting this match..let a vet have his day.. And my dad served,my grandpa served,my uncles served from ww1,ww2,the korean war So yeah im pissed off...what a bunch of elitist rich bitches acting like they are victims.. Meaning being rude AF to a 98 yr old vet that just wanted to play our countries anthem on his harmonica.. Guess they cant respect the country or those that gave the most.. this man should have been warmed cheered and hugged by our squad.. Fuck you usnw soccer

Sorry if you didnt hear...a ww2 98 yr old vet was asked to play the anthem on his harmonica before the uswn team's match.. And 3 us players turned their backs to this man,this vet,this hero.. I say fuck you and your narrow mindedness...get over this being all about you. Fuck if anything your protesting stole perhaps his happiest moment..the cameras went to the players instead of his playing.

So that's their spin??...when have you ever seen a team where part of the squad is turned one way and other in another direction. I watched plenty of football,basketball,baseball games..the only time the team is not in unison..is when they protest.. And even so...if a person is talking,singing to you on the field, your gonna turn your back to them to admire the flag..??? At the other end of the pitch.. Not buying it in the least cuz..not in the least..look at the footage...they arent admiring the flag. And it wasnt like this vet was buried deep in a 100,000 fans,he's close to the pitch.. Do you normorally advert your gaze/ turn your back..nope..not to a real hero..my gaze is on him

For christ's sake watch the vid...both teams are literally throwing distance from this man. Yet your turning yourself away from a vet 20 ft in front of you..to address the flag. Which isnt even on a pole or presented by a standard barrier ( where the fuck was this match??). It is in the crowd??? Once again wtf Anyway if you'll notice there are the us flag on the virtual ribbons around the stadium directly in front. Notice how the other team is respecting this man and his service..their gaze is solely on him..one team..one unified stance. I've never saw a group of players turned in opposite directions..you wont see it at the all star game

Fuck ask any players in the european leagues/ ask their fans if you ever saw any team or fan turned in opposite ways when they line up for their anthems. Fuck you'd get such a beat down.

This is the same team that demands the ussoccer federation build them a fanbase ...er turning your back on a vet ( for any reason is disrespectful).. It's akin to say hearing the queen give a speech and turning aside so you can admire the flag in the distance.. And then the damage control is to deny it? No apology..no group hug with this guy,no positive press? Simply deny it and move on

Thank you for the backup...these are professional soccerplayers...not middleschoolers. You face in one direction And no for me this isnt political. I do see it as disrepectful to this gentleman.. Whether by accident or on purpose. And being professionals you'd think they would apologize for their actions

I am not american but i was disgusted in reading this my grandfather served in WW2 and he fought for everyone to be free as did all these other service men and women .. they deserve our respect not our backs being turned on them . It shames me and everyone one else should be too by this disgusting act ... yes there is a time and place to show your displeasure at something you disagree with but a 98 year old playing his musical piece is not one off them. I hope these players get booed the next time they get to play.

Watch the olmpics...teams always face the same direction and the main audience. The vet was staged dead center of the two teams. All were staged before the main viewing audience at center field. And then us players just turn sideways?? Meanwhile the other club are all faceing the same way and to the front.. Seems stetchy AF cuz...and alot of people running damage control. And by the grace of God...if they actually turned for the flag's sake.. It's rude AF to turn away from the principle speaker/ preformer. Especially a ww2 medic..yep a first responder..at the battle of the buldge. The bitches need to apologise
