I luv that people are gushing..
See see i told you fat cat employers could afford to pay min wage workers 15 dollars an hour!!!

Hmm maybe you've noticed the price changes at the store...or at the restraunt or for any other business.

The cost of labor is passed down.

Now some may say well fuck you..i'll gladly pay more so these workers earn a liveable wage..

Which is cool..then tip big ..

But now you not only made that choice for me at this restraunt with higher prices..

But prices went up everywhere..

And sure the rich dont care and the government will just shovel out more benefits to the poor.

But this " shared pain of socialism " shit has to stop.

Noone is raising the middle class income...if anything your making them poor.

The rich will still get theirs..the poor will get theirs..

And your creating just a rich vs poor situation like we find in cities like atlanta, san fran etc..
Middle class people cant afford to live there.

The real problem with 15 bucks an hour is nurses, teachers, etc will demand higher wages...
So the prices of healthcare, education continue to climb. Even the government will take over

And you create a society of haves and have nots..

And fyi there is a good reason they wish to tax the rich..
The middle class is broke AF..

I wonder why they feel that those on disability or social security don't need that kind of raise too?

When you're on a fixed income, price changes really hurt your livelihood when you're all ready on such a tight budget you have to decide if you can get medicine or food.

Guess they aren't worried about all the people.

As a Brit with no dog in this fight, I would say that you have already created a society of haves ans have nots...

Personally I think it is disgusting that, as one of the richest countries in the world, you have a large amount of people who cannot afford to become ill.

Wicked Tongue, as a Brit you do have a dog in this fight, same ideology demanding higher minimum wage in both countries, at the cost of living to the working middle class.

Personally I think it is disgusting that, the UK, as one of the richest countries in the world, would have a large amount of people scared to become ill due to the Liverpool Care Pathway, or whatever the NHS is calling it these days.

My opinion:

Minimum wage is always = $0 (nil £ if you prefer)
Look at all the automation & self serve kiosks being put in place where there would have been low wage workers, lots of unemployed.
No job = no wage.

johnboyathome, exactly, I don't know about there, but here, they are getting rid of cashiers and having self scans, hard telling how much more they will go to get rid of minimum wage type jobs.

My point is unless you raise everyone's wages across the board then businesses will follow this example.

Workers demand 15 dollars an hr. Mcdonalds corp is a huge business. But your local McDonalds may just be a mom and pop shop.
They aren't " rich".

So to pay you that wage the cost of the burgers go up.

Don't know about you but my breaking point is 10 dollars for a " meal".

I'm not paying 15 for deep fried mystery meat.

So raises your wages and raise your prices..

And lose your customers..

The owners won't/ can't take this hit,so they simply fire employees or install tech..or hire immigrants under the table.( like chipotle did/ does).

So how is this helping the poor?? Meanwhile the poor also have to pay higher prices...on rent, gas, food

And your great politicans most likely will raise your taxes now
