I talk alot about liking dudes...
But maybe you notice i dont talk about my sexual adventures with them.

The reason being ofcourse the threat of getting hiv.

So i rarely get it on with guys.

Even though i knew about PREP...i couldnt afford to be put on it due to it's insane cost.

But yesterday i researched it and apparently there is a generic form of the pill...
And something about insurance companies have to cover it.

The only downside is you have to be hiv neg ( ofcourse)...and you have to keep going back to the doctors every 3 months to be tested again to get a refill.

Ive seen companies get around this w at home test and seeing a doctor via your phone..

May seem like a pain in the ass. But it's better than the alternative.

I need to call blue cross/ blue shield to see what is all covered.

Anyway i thought i would throw this out there.. maybe you enjoy guys too and were unaware of what protection is available..

The wierdest thing is you'd think insurance companies/ the government would be falling over their own two feet giving PREP away without any hassle in an attempt to reduce hiv cases.

U.S. health insurance companies are remarkably short-sighted. Part of the commercial mindsight that cripples our healthcare system and many patients.

Interesting article about PREP: https://www.poz.com/article/cheaper-generic-prep-now-available. Maybe you've seen it?

Thanks for the breadcrumbs..

I thought I'd blog on the topic because I had no clue that the generic version was available since March 2021.

And it is something people really need to be taking if they are exploring m2m fun.

But I agree that drug companies are greedy AF . I get making money to cover research.. But prep was costing like 1500 dollars a month w/o insurance.. someone told me he was paying like 300 plus with insurance
