I thought this would be fun..

Can you name a classic movie that is a must watch.

For shits and giggles i watched true grit last night..

And omg the cinematography was amazing..today they would just green screen everything to death.

it's wonderful that it's set in colorado...they even referrenced the burning of lawrence ks..

And yes i did watch the remake...it's seperate in my opinion...not cannon..mildly artifical..

Compared to the original...
and funny the original featured a hanging and glen campbell spanking Maddie

So i wondered if you had a favorite classic movie

Being There (1979)
I return to this film every couple of years. Very poignant story with understated comedic scenes.

I saw that movie at school as a teenager. I thought it was greatly underrated.

I like " charlie"...aka flowers for algernon...

About an low iq guy that is made fun of by his co workers at a bakery.
These scientist want to use charlie in an experiment to see if they can make him smarter...like they did the mouse algernon..

It is a real kick in the teeth sorta movie..and ,makes you realises how unfair life is...

Its sunny in Philadelphia had their own take on this novel...soooo funny.

Hah just watched, Being There the other day, a suggestion by MrB. It's a great film

My choice would be M . A german film made in 1931 but Peter Lorre is just as scary and creepy today as when it was made. Perfect for Halloween.
Rear Window is also a favourite, i love Hitchcock.

Sacco & Vanzetti (1971). Docudrama about two tradesmen, anarchists, who were (probably) falsely accused and executed for armed robbery and murder. I still think about it, decades after watching it.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

I think this is maybe even a perfect film in my opinion.
Humphry Bogart let's greed get the best of him.

Harold & Maude

Unhappy rich kid meets woman in her twilight years who teaches him how to live.
Funny and touching.
