Poor and proud..and how cheating and stealing made my boss rich

 I've said before that I work for a mom and pop's shop.

But i never talked about the good ole boy network where my boss would rip off companies for payments under the table..

Like say he shipped a 1000 units and only delivered a 100.

And today he pulled it again...said he shipped 16..

And as I swapped out maybe 11..

I wonder..

Maybe if it isnt better to just be poor and proud..

My boss is 60..in bad health..fuck had sweat literally dripping off his nose...and it wasn't that hot..

And i thought...

There before the grace of God go i...I'm 53

I never cheated anyone to get a head..to make a buck..

I may have 20 yrs left on life's journey...

And sure my boss got..literally a house..look it up on Staley golf course...in kc..

And I'm driving a beater car..19 yr old ford focus.

And his cheating..sickened me..

Reminds me of the chains we forged..Jacob Marley from the Christmas Carol.

But in the end he keeps on cheating..

AND I'm happy that my car takes me home at nights
