I thought I'd write this blog about my trip to the grocery store..

I've been told...fuck you work out..you lift heavy...your a dude...why are you counting calories?

And to be honest

As a dude we get a pass..we figure we can eat anything without giving it any thought..

Like that 3 dollar can of peanuts just sitting on that shelf...

Seems harmless...

But has 12 servings

Which equally a 1000 calories...

And it would have taken me maybe 3 minutes to wolf it down.

I would have downed it without a thought...

And that is why I think there needs to be a risk/ reward set up...

Presently I'm walking..hope to get to running soon..
Like 2 miles a day x3 or 4 times a week.

I then ask myself if those peanuts are worth all that walking..

And do I really want to sabatoge the good the walking has done..

It's just peanuts...

And I find it easier to just put them back on the shelf.

Counting calories isn't hard...and you'd be amazed at how easy and cheaper it is to leave certain item at the store

Like you I work out, run, exercise a lot especially when the motorcycle races start up. I don't count calories but just happened to look at some of the food items that the gkids had thrown in the store buggy. They love the ramen noodles for some reason. I had never looked at them or used them before and was thinking what harm can a foam cup of noodles you pour boiling water on be. Wellllll I was wrong. I just happened to see the side of one of the foam cups and what stood out to me was the total sodium content for the cups in the buggy. 57% and up! And the total cup was 290 calories. I had no idea. So I am now looking at a lot of what they buy and trying to wean them from ramen noodles!
