The end of baseball..here comes the new old man beer league rules See below |

First off I'll preface by saying I'm not a baseball purist. I could care less about the unwritten rules of the game. And yes there needs to be changes.. Considering your audience is basically old white men. This probably is one real example where a business needs to grow a diverse audience.. Fast But these new rule changes really have nothing to do with attracting poc fans... Rather All the kids now play soccer and Karen and ken parents have been conditioned to 2 hr. games. So baseball feels like they now must accomidate these parents' schedules or risk losing out on the next generation of fans..no kid is gonna play baseball So what are the new rules.... Bigger bases....cause I guess that equates more steals,more runs...more.. Poc in the league...??? This isn't me bring racist...but if a guy can't hit or field...he can still be on a minor league triple A roster.. Just in case the team makes the playoffs... Like the kc royals did... Bring up the speedy guy...that shouldn't even be on a team...but boy he is fast.. To just replace the guy on base and now to steal bases. The next rule..no need for extra innings that would delay Karen's nightly wine drinking session.. Just put a runner on second automatically With bigger bases...and speedy guys... That will steal 3rd... And any pop fly or bunt might end the game quickly. Third..a pitch clock...cause God knows pitching is all about feeling in the moment,finding your stride.. Now the pitcher has to deliver the ball in like 15 seconds or else.. And when all said and done... None of this will attract new fans

i really enjoyed playing baseball but could care less to watch 162 games. Baseball was king when there was the game of the week and that was the biggest draw to watch. The games called on the radio often accompanied us on road trips or while playing with friends outside. The new rules are to speed up the game and help protect players ankles at close plays at first base.. Baseball hardly cares about the fan anymore. The almighty TV revenue stream is the driving force to all of this. (just like all sports). Baseball is where it is because they lost the connection to the fan. That lead to the loss of the fan's kids playing or listening to games. The baseball season begins while other sports are getting ready to go into the playoffs. It ends while football is just getting good. Begin the season later in better weather. End it a month earlier and make the playoffs better. Hope
