This might seem like an odd topic..esp from someone into men..
But I'm very pro male birth control...
And hopefully they will get it right..
Someday

Yet they might have better luck turning lead into gold

Scientist have tried hormones and surprise...
Lower his testosterone and he becomes an old man
Give him enough estrogen to lower his sperm count and he becomes a lady..

So companies backed off on hormones and decided to go the plumbing route..

The problem with that..

They cant guarantee sperm viable enough for pregnancy if you decide you want a reversal.

The newest course is
Adam...where they literally inject the vas deference with some " stop leak" solution..that last only a year.
Then the solution becomes liquid and the pumps are back to full blast

The problem of course is none of these scientist ever watched shark tank...

The idea is interesting..but it's not cheap..not readily available..only last 1 year..
And on the website it is geared for/marketed to couples/ this is a couple's choice..sorta thing so she doesn't have to take hormones..

Instead of being a solution to a 20 yr old..with no money but doesn't want kids till he is more mature and financial stable..

There is no listing of price because it is in the beta stage of testing..
But it will be pricey..
I'm guessing
Based on the fact that they are inserting a needle into the vas deference..which are about the thickness of a penny ( 1.5mm).
I'm guessing no doctor or nurse isn't doing this and it will be a robot..

Imagine if they are off slightly and rip or cut it..

Then to make sure the goop actually plugged the vas deference...the pull out an ultra sound machine..

I googled it and they said an ultra sound in Missouri is like 200-300 bucks a scan.

So let me summarize:

A vasectomy cost 600-700 dollars..cheaper around March madness..and is permanent ..unless reversed.

Adam is a 30 minute out patient procedure..last 1 yr..
And I'm assuming they don't just stick a needle into the sack.
I'm assuming just like a vasectomy the sack must be cut in order to gain access to your tubes..

Someone would have to be a crack shot with a tiny needle or it is done via robot..

They need to use an ultra sound to verify..

So what happens in say november..what happens if your goop liquifies early and you now got a woman pregnant..

And then to miss out on the market that really needs a good male birth control and go after???

The 30 yr old couple that has a kid(s) ..don't want anymore and want to get her off birth control..

The ones that a 600 dollar vasectomy already provides the solution..

What 30 yr olds with kids in that position want a 1 yr option..

Probably few and far between..this seems like a luxury option for a priveledged market

I get..
They are trying to reinvent the wheel and eventually replace the vasectomy..

But they really need to get their minds off the plumbing and think outside the box..

Men aren't complex..it amazing how complex this solution needs to be..

It's funny how scientist also have to be business people..

But just like an episode of shark tank or the better British version dragon's den..

You may think you have a great idea...

But how is it gonna replace existing tech that is cheaper and also is effective.

Like I said this isn't designed for the larger market..

It's expensive tech aimed at the well off dude that thinks..
Well I already got kids..
What if I get a divorce and then want kids with another woman..

That is their customer..

Even order who would continue to do this year in and year out..

I'll do the same thing for ya for ten bucks and a can of great stuff or fix a flat.

Hell, I'll even throw in my patented 5 minute, 5 mile guarantee, I'll warranty my handy work for 5 minutes or 5 miles, which ever I get to first!!

Actually if we wish to use real world solutions to this problem..

Scientist need to develope a " sharkbite" plumbing solution..

If you ever DYI plumbed anything you'll know what I'm talking about..

They need to make a fitting that can go over the cut ends during the vasectomy...capping off the flow..
But making the reattachment a simple procedure.

Right now doctors already do bypasses in hope of reconnecting the lines..

Why not try capping off the severed ends of the tubes with a fitting...then plumb in a new artificial line if the guy decides he wants a kid..

Then remove it when he fathered that child..

Ideally everyone wants that on/ off switch for viable sperm..

And there is no easy solution...cause it doesn't work that way.

Probably the best solution is rethinking the condom
