Watch wearing |

No watch for me. My skin reacts negatively any sort of material. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

right & left ( dominant?) hand, left wrist watch. Dont bother, i like weird,

While I'm a dominant left-handed person, I would wear a wristwatch on my left wrist. However, because of the proliferation of electronic devices that can tell you the time, I don't wear a wristwatch anymore. I do, however, own a pocket watch that my wife gave me for a birthday present.

Unlike most on here, I HATE being tethered to a cell phone and wear a wrist watch, but currently am not because all four of the watches I own need new batteries...Ha, Ha, Ha! SO, i ask people that are around me if I need to know the time when I'm out and about, and I need to drop two of the watches off for new batteries, then take the other two in about six months later. I like wearing a watch, always have...

Normally right-handed left-watch (so I voted that) but currently right-handed right-watch due to a broken left wrist in plaster! Keep looking at a chunk of masonry to tell the time. Doh!

actually I gave up on watches. Cell phones made them obsolete in my opinion.

Right handed, used to wear my watch on my left wrist. I've got out of the habit of wearing a watch. Years as an engineer in the food industry, not allowed to wear a watch at work, there were wall clocks everywhere anyway. Plus having a clock in the car & carrying a mobile phone when out, didn't seem much need.

....what time is it anyway

The wearing of a wrist watch on the left goes back virtually since the beginning of the wrist watch, and for a reason. Given most people are right handed, they have better manual dexterity with that hand. Therefore, it was much easier, and more natural for them, to do up the watch band's belt buckle with their right hand. It also meant that the winder/adjuster had to be put on the right side of the watch so as to allow the right hand to manipulate them. Battery powered watches with metal or velcro bands have really made this convention redundant, however, most watch manufacturers have stuck with the placement of controls on the right.

Im retired. What would I need a watch for?!

i think the practice of not wearing a wrist watch on the dominant arm started to decrease the chance of damaging the watch. If someone were righthanded, he would probably do more with his right hand thus risking scratching the face or the like should he wear the watch on the right wrist. Or so i've heard.

Just the sort of random question I would ask!

Seems to be a common topic. Here is the result of M_Ezrah of Gor. Left hand - Ambidextrous None of my limbs is 'dominant' My mind is dominant!😊 (Who came up with this description 'dominant hand' if you're left or right handed? Was (s)he kinky do you think? I wear wrist watches because I like them. The mobile phone is convenient for use as a phone, a camera or a timer/alarm clock. But for telling the time I look at my wrist watch. Now you know what you can get ME for my Birthday 😁⌚

Forgot to add. No need for batteries in many of my watches. They are motion-powered. And one is light powered. I can't wear it in a dungeon! 😎 We A/all know how frustrating it can be when the batteries have gone flat.

I have no dominant hand. If I pick it up with my right hand then it goes on my left. If I pick it up with my left then It goes on my right.

Do some people still wear their watches with the watch face facing out from the back of their wrist?
