you’re talking, presumably, about the cochrane review?

that’s not actually what the report said.

the study did not gauge the effectiveness of masks; it attempted to determine the effectiveness of interventions to encourage mask wearing.

big difference.

masks work, but if you encourage people to wear masks and they don’t, or if they wear them inconsistently or improperly, that’s a different story. that’s what this study, which was mixed with data predominantly about the seasonal flu, was about. in other words, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him put on a mask.

No, not really, just what was stated on cnbc by fauchup. I would not put much stock into
cochrane reviews at all. Easy to skew data into the pre-specified eligibility criteria that you wanted. But thanks for reminding me about my horse. I'll try to remember not to try and put a mask on him at the watering hole.
dr. fauchup : Double-masking makes ‘common sense’ - cnbc

so, let me see if i have this correct... cnbc (and many other media outlets) apparently misrepresented what the cochrane review stated.

and your reply as to why cochrane's underlying data is corrupt or invalid is that you're only quoting what you heard on cnbc... say what?

and then you support that by saying something about what you think you heard a government official once say, but you don't actually quote him or cite a source or a date for the comment that is the foundation of your mask avoidance belief system. you just post a purloined cartoon (while cutting the artist's name off the image).

alrighty then.
