Harvard COULD provide free tuition to students for a hundred years and STILL not burn through their endowment. Yet they are one of the most expensive to attend.

And why do you think it is that way? Looks like they would want to be able to get the best and brightest that they could. Most of the time the best and brightest are not the ones that can afford the most expensive to attend. Our college had huge endowments but was very generous in the full scholarships that it gave out each year. Lots of conditions tied to those but nevertheless they were full scholarships. Thanks for pointing that out.....I knew we kept you around for something

It's not just Harvard. Most big name colleges could give free tuition with the size of their endowments.
Question is, why don't all these donors that keep raising the endowment just give free rides to deserving students instead of enriching the college.
