Saturdays & Retro Beauty Parlors

It is Saturday which means tons of hairspray and lots of gossip.
When I was young, I used to crawl into my grandfather's Buick and he would take my grandma and I to the beauty parlor. The beauty parlor meant nabs (southern cheese and crackers snack) and RC colas over tons of beauty magazines and the smell of freshly painted nails. Apparently, not much has changed in my world

Pictured is the perming device until the 50's

Joining @aliljaded in doing a Saturday Accoustic Playlist - I am adding my two cents in with this post
Dog & Butterfly - Heart Unplugged
Maggie May - Rod Stewart Live Unplugged
Roundabout - YES
Lemon Parade - Tonic Accoustic
Who Will Save Your Soul - Jewel Accoustic Live
We're All the Way - Eric Clapton Slowhand
Just Breathe - Pearl Jam Accoustic
A Case of You - Joni Mitchell
I wish I Wish - Cat Stevens
Falls Apart - HURT Accoustic EMI Session
Thorn In My Pride - Black Crows Accoustic
Blow Me Up - Soundgarden accoustic
Hey Hey What Can I Do? - Led Zeppelin

Enjoy and Happy Saturday to you too

No doubt about it!

Since it's February, I'll add that the first US patent for one of those machines was awarded to an African-American woman named Marjorie Joyner, in 1928.

But you do have a German dude to blame for the overall idea of using heat and chemicals to curl hair

That hair styling apparatus is pretty wild. I can already smell the burnt hair. Nice playlist.
