Infinitepoetess, I was shocked when I heard this news this morning (Australian time). I have to agree that he was a rock god and him with his band were favourites of mine. I guess I'm an old head-banger from way back. Of late there has been far too many of our music heroes pass.

RIP EVH and know you brought much musical joy to many hundreds of thousands, NO make that millions of fans.

Truly a loss.As I have said on other forums, I was Van Halen at the Ice House in Pasadena before they became famous. I worked in the recording industry back in those days.

Poetess, when I heard this I thought back to Michael Jackson's "Beat It" on "Thiller". Does that album become the best selling album of all time without Eddie's blistering guitar solo on "Beat It"? I don't think so. And you are so correct, because when David Lee Roth left and Sammy Hagar, the hits kept on comng. Looks like a trip to Twist and Shout to pick up some EHV is needed in the future.

The recording industry? You must have some wonderful remembrances.
