A Road Trip to Appreciate

On D-Day, the hound and I needed get the wind in our hair, the road beneath us, and get back t.o nature...
Those ingredients make the holy trinity recipe for soul food. But, more than that, we felt the need t.o be where our spirits could soar...

We headed north into the great unknown of Wyoming We had a general destination, and yet, no destination...You know the kind of trip where no planning resonates with you? Well, Tim always did say I flew by the seat of my pants...

A chill hung in the windy air when we descended into the basin of the valley. Laramie sits there, sprawling into the rural plains. The hound needed t.o run, and I needed to walk, so we stopped to find a perfect place t.o do so.

Outside of town, we rode along a highway that takes you into some of the most beautiful, rugged country. Around every curve, some expansive vista opened into view. The sight would catch my breath, and in that moment, I could feel Tim with us. We stopped at The Buttes you see pictured here...

D-Day made me quietly reflect on the long journey this ye.ar. When Tim died, I came back t.o Alt on New Year's Eve. I needed t.o document a.ll of the chaotic feelings of grief, healing, and transformations that have occurred.
Of course, there are moments of despair, interlaced in the pages. But, there are also moments of joy...The blog reflects my kinks, my loves, my joys, my accomplishments....and sometimes, my failures. It wouldn't be authentic without the full package deal...

T.o my readers, thank you for supporting and reading the cathartic releases on these pages. You have given me much love and support that was valuable throughout. I couldn't have done it nearly as smooth, or with the seeming strength of ten women, without you.

The Mountains Win Again
Blues Traveler
I pick up my smile put it in my pocket
Hold it for a while try not to have to drop it
Men are not to cry so how am I to stop it
Keep it all inside don't show how much she rocked ya
Ooh can you feel the same
Ooh you gotta love the pain
Ooh it looks like rain again
Ooh I feel it comin' in
The mountains win again
The mountains win again
Dreams we dreamed at night were never meant to come to life
I can't understand the ease she pulled away her hand
This time in my life I was hurt enough to care
I guess from now on I'll be careful what I share
Ooh can you feel the same
Ooh ya gotta love the pain
Ooh it looks like rain again
Yeah feel it comin' in
The mountains win again
A pocket is no place for a smile anyway
Someday I will find love again will blow my mind
Maybe it will be that love that got away from me
Is there a line to write that could make you cry tonight
Can you feel the same
Yeah ya gotta love the pain
Ooh it looks like rain again
Ooh feel it comin' in
The mountains win again
Ooh the mountains win again

Poetess, this is why you knew to move to the Denver area. There are wonderful vistas all around here that you can drive to for the day, this is why I love the West, for the vistas. It's good that you got out and let nature heal your spirit. By you sharing your journey you got the support your needed to do the healing. Put a smile on your face as you feel yourself heal.

I know I feel honored that you have shared with us. It's hard to put oneself out there on display. Thank you for the glimpse into poetess

I know that those views are breathtaking. I appreciate the private viewing of the others. I'm happy that your ride was just what you needed.

Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.
