There's some new treatments, my sister has had success with the targeted antibody treatment, but some insurances make you do the traditional treatments before allowing it. Worth another opinion at least. hope everything works out. Nice that he's surrounded by love.

i am so sorry to hear this on two fronts. First for you and facing your dad's possible death and second as a physician it absolutely angers me to hear that someone's age precludes treatment. How ridiculous!!! that should be your dad's decision,. I'd get another doctor. My thoughts and prayers going your way

I forgot to mention earlier that if it’s DLBCL, depending on the targets turned up in a FISH study and immunohistochemical assays from the biopsy I’m sure has already happened, there may be dual-immunotherapy treatment options to discuss if other health conditions preclude a first line therapy like R-CHOP. … possibly worth running by the hematologist/oncologist if it’s DLBCL (or perhaps discussing with a different one in seeking a second opinion from a different medical group) if it’s not something they already mentioned considering (and gave you a good reason for excluding). … sending good thoughts and hoping you guys find a way through that allows you more good time together.
