I know it may sound like old guard fantasy bs, but my personal belief is that a sub can grow into a Dominant, having experienced the "other side" be it temporary to have the experience of it, or longer term and grown into it.

Just my opinion, I may be wrong. I've been wrong before, it was a Tuesday

sometimes, it's a natural reaction to the other person. We slot in at the appropriate level.

"We've seen the whole puppet show".......the show had a few good scenes but not enough for my liking.

I think you're 2 cents is worth a lot more.lol. i agree that a sub can can grow into a Domme because experiencing the other side of the coin (pun intended) open up an understanding of what a sub requires that an exclusive Domme may not fully understand. After all a sub and Domme have completely different mindsets

They’re a very fortunate sub indeed who benefits from your experience. It’s not a path I was ever inclined to follow, but on a related note it’s worth mentioning that in some leather circles a period in service is still considered de riguer for a would-be top. The few big-letter-types I’ve personally known who traveled that path for a time give every indication of being some of the most consistent, thoughtful, empathetic and effective on taking up their left-of-the-slash mantle.
