I had a friend who's daughter was a contestant in miss this and that, and the first time I saw her while she was just out of college, I thought, I've never seen anyone that beautiful. It was like there was an electric light shining just on her. Super nice kid, but it's membership in a different world. I think guys will put up with alot more from a beauty, just to be near them, but ultimately it's the inner beauty we see and embrace.

reminds me, if one married a really good actor - how would you ever believe them if they said they loved you, or cried...

well i think you're so right. beauty starts inside! more people need to appreciate that

Beauty is an inside job however most short fugly people probably do not reap the rewards of being tall, handsome and dominant. Just saying... Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.

I don't think I've ever been accused of being "beautiful", so I'll have to take the word of those with more experience. I think it is common to lament our own struggles and romanticize those with whom we have less in common. The reality is though our struggles all may be different, we all have struggles. The challenge is in not assuming because our pain is so visceral, it is the only valid pain. I suppose the same goes for happiness. Thank you for the thoughts this morning.

“Thank you for the lovely tune, that funky music will drive us till the dawn. Let's go, let's bugaloo till we puke!”

Beauty is only skin deep, my slut may not be much to look at, but she has a very beautiful soul. I think I will keep her. Lol

hash, but one of those sad truths.

Intuition and real world knowledge tells me that my statement is correct. Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.

And what would a woman's perspective be in that situation where she has found herself on the arm of the latest and greatest 'hunky male' (you pick his profession/station in life; actor, athlete, CEO/successful business man, politician, surgeon, etc.). And the woman considers herself 'average/nothing special'? What are her thoughts and actions etc. in this situation as the relationship plays out? I think people are aware of "fears", real or perceived, and act accordingly based on their abilities to overcome those fears. If someone thinks that they're "not good enough" to be with someone, then that 'FEAR" keeps them from even trying, even when that "SOMEONE" might extend an olive branch of friendship because they see something they LIKE in the person with the "FEAR", opportunity lost because of "FEAR". This subject has been discussed on here under different titles before, and ALL with similar responses and opinions. But, it boils down to each individual's abilities to face their fears and act accordingly, and if you get turned down, or ignored, walk away with dignity and your pride that the one that turned you down or ignored you was just not "your type", and continue on with your head held high. In MY life and in MY opinion, their LOSS, not mine...and I'm not, nor have I ever considered myself "God's gift to women", but hey, I've done alright in my lifetime.

It’s a useful weapon and a mind fuck for most all at once- really a simple matter of symmetry and wiring. One of the fortunate things about my orientation is that throughout my life one of the most common and well-earned male stereotypes hasn’t applied- external beauty may at most buy the first moments of attention but it’s easily dispelled in seconds and attractiveness that endures beyond that is a far, far rarer thing that’s only emergent through the smallest details with little reference to what ripples at the surface. … also a handy thing whether running a sales team or juggling Kunoichi- best not to be subject to the thrall of the very spells you build teams (in part, at least) to weave. I knew someone who headed corporate sales at a Fortune 100 company before joining my team- she shared that her #1 qualification for hiring sales team members while with her former employer was “looks”. … ever the clownfish to the anemone of unresonant beauty.
