 Seems your wish is reasonable and easily attained.. Just a bit more effort / consistency in your campaign.. Post here every couple of days, and interact with the people who respond, You might also visit the chat rooms and engage there.

You can start your own chat room. You can restrict the "members" to people within a certain age group, gender, distance, etc. Then spend time there chatting with the people who enter.

Another effective way to meet people is to have a whisper room on your blog. By keeping their responses private, you can keep information private.

It's really just a matter of YOU putting in the time to find what you're looking for.
