Funny you post about news and such today. Last night, at a David Crosby concert I met a couple and the man's mother prior to the show. The Mother had been a news reporter and columnist for years before print news and such started disappearing. We had a good discussion. It was his wife's Egyptian Angh that caught my eye that got us talking.

Crosby, did not go inot much politiacal discussion duruingthe show. But I did hear comments prior and during teh intermission that are typical at his shows. The hard core right wing types come to hear his music (which is quite often political) but complain that artists (actors, musicians, etc ) should not talk politics.

I say, if you don't want to hear politics, don't listen. Which is pretty much the case with right wing folks, they only listen to and belive the BS anyway.

The last song, was Audience participation, with a mild bit of political commentary. Nothing quite like being an an audience of a thousand or more singing the refrain , Four Dean in Ohio. Crosby's soaring voice asking "How many More". It is pretty emotional for the bulk of those attending. I think the bulk of them read more than the headlines.

The net is a great wealth of information, but maybe some people should stay away until they are smart enough to know the difference between information and propaganda. I flip through all the headlines when I can regardless. I don't categorize the lean of the source but try to notice that it's there.

Sadly, my old standby during drive time... NPR, which I widely considered unbiased, has been striking a few nerves as well. I guess the all pray to the same masters these days, the one that writes the checks.

In any event, it was a rare treat seeing you here after so long.
