I just got a smart phone about 3 yrs ago so I can empathize. I just couldn't force myself to buy that apple thing.....hell more than my mortgage at the time so I found an android I liked and slapped in a SD card......amazing

Just make sure the device you're purchasing for can handle the amount of space.
As for laptops and desktops, SSDs are the way to go. Imagine booting up into Windows from a cold start inside of 25 seconds
