I'm so old I remember the Knife Man who used to drive through the neighborhood along with the Good Humor, Bungalow Bar, and various food and ride trucks.

P.S. The first episode of the new Dexter opened with Dexter sharpening knives. Turned out he was sharpening them for the local butcher.

Yes it is the time for butternut and acorn squash. I have some butternut in my freezer right now and see acorn squash will be added to the grocery list.

I like spaghetti squash and acorn most of the time. Butternut if I am going to serve with a montage of other veggies roasted.

There's always a Chinese cleaver. I've used that and a wooden mallet to slice thru hard squash.

As for the Texas power outage mess, they brought it on themselves. This is the 3rd time for them and each time the After Action Reports say the same things. Harden the infrastructure by weatherizing it.

Yeah, I immediately looked it up and found out that less than 20% of the total electrical power comes from wind turbines. Unfortunately, the (ahem) "smart" ones in Texas will just nod their head and declare that Abbott is right. You really can't fix stupid.
