I'm not a social media girl, myself, and that sits just fine with me. Glad you're doing well!

Do they teach you this in the Master Garden Program?

Hi GH...
I don't do social media for several reasons, which I won''t go into right now.
I enjoy my privacy. Anyway, happy to see you're going to do a Master Gardener's class. Let me know when you're done so I can pick your brain. Just kidding. Another great source of "how to" garden is the book by James Underwood Crockett called "Crockett's Victory Garden." The copy I have was published 1977 by Little, Brown and Company. It explains everything and anything about vegetable gardening, and how one can garden twelve months a year! It is written in laymen's terms which makes it easy to understand, complete with photos and illustrations. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in any kind of gardening. You may want to get copy. It was also a PBS weekly program back in the late 70's, early 80's. Two other books as similar resources are "Crockett's Flower Garden" published in 1981, and the "Victory Garden Cookbook" (not sure of publication date) written by Marian Morash. The VGC is truly a gem to have...
It explains everything from how and when to harvest, how to prep and store, and a few recipes on each, relative to produce one is currently harvesting. Should you have any of these publications all ready then you're kind of good to go. Should you not , definitely see if you get them. I find them all invaluable. Have a nice day!

Hi GH...
I watched it like you, back in the day. Not religiously, so I don't remember a whole lot of the episodes. This is why I find the print version useful. Not being an avid reader... the 300 pages it is just the right amount for me! You really are 68 years old! Just kidding, I knew that. And yes... Rutgers does offer a Master Gardner class, and there are other educational entities here in NJ that offer it as well.
So, how big a garden (length x width) do you plant? Any idea where I can some 'made fresh daily' cow manure? It's a hobby I absolutely love...nothing like it. Let me know what you learn.
Liked the Dorothy Parker quote... Be and stay safe.

Have a nice day!
