Does a word make a difference So, when a man calls you cute, what does that mean? For me it makes me feel like I might be in the "friend zone" I really don't know. I guess for me I would perfer to be called beautiful or sexy. I just wonder if other women or men might feel this way, or is it another one of my "things". I don't want to sound pathetic or as if I am asking for more, but its just one of my random thoughts. ~hush |

I guess it can mean different things to different people. Personally I would think someone saying that means you're good enough for maybe right now, but not really what I have in mind to be seen with. Unless he can really explain without becoming defensive. I'd tell him to fuck off. You don't deserve to be second or third choice. Why didn't he say you were "so...hot or so....sexy"?...I think I'd be asking myself if I'm getting ready to be a casual fuck without any emotional attachment. Don't let someone callously use and take advantage of you. You're better than that.

I think cute is a respectful way of saying your sexy. Coming out with sexy right from jump street may be take as being a little to forward. Now if this was said after being around each other and comfortable then definitely in the friend zone.

Hush, No sugar coating it, you are correct, it can mean exactly what you are interpreting it as. But, as others have pointed out, and there was some good reply’s, it has multiple meanings. It’s a case by case and depends on the situation. Others have brought up meaningful interpretations. There’s also simply physical traits of being more on the diminutive side, or have a lite bubbly personality, or maybe a “girlish” attitude or appearance? Those all might be a big turn on, about you, to your potential partner and therefore calls you “cute”. You have a good feel for the context in which you are experiencing this word and probably have a good instinct how and why it was chosen. It’s a really good reminder for all of us though.

Ha! The word "sweet" is not enough for you, although it contains what it is supposed to express when looking at your photo! Everything that tastes and pleases is sweet! You want to read ... Yeah, cool, Oh, I'd like to dive in there! Oh, baby, that's the only way I love you! Yes ... and here the opinions are divided ... You want to hear clearer words and others would rate that offensive .... If I now say to a lady "I would like to immerse myself with you" I have a 50% probability of arriving ??? Ha .... Some like it and others don't .... So now I would say "Yes lady, bring it on" to your photo and hope that you will see it as a compliment !?

Everyone has their own style for attempting initial e-contact with someone new and I have my own. If she appears attractive, I look at all of her pics. I also read everything that is available. Friends, pics, her blog , etc. [If she has ‘gyno pics’ in her profile, I am not at all interested. At my age, I know what a pussy looks like.] But I would never use the word ‘cute’ in my initial contact. As someone else already said, that word could certainly be appropriate if she and I were laying in bed during ‘aftercare’ but, in my opinion, it is definitely not appropriate for a first contact regarding a woman who intrigued me. Some of her pics must be pics must be a face pics. I want to see if there is a smile in her eyes that confirms the smile on her lips. The other thing I also do is to compose (off-line) my first contact e-mail. Then I print out a hard copy, take one or two days to proof-read it, finally use ‘Copy and Paste’ to send it. Remember, a person only gets ONE chance to make a good ‘first impression’.

It sorta depends on factors like What is your relationship to this guy What stage of a relationship are you all on The type of guy he is.. And what context he is using the term cute in For a guy cute can mean he wants to fuck you..your very desireable..but maybe he cant express such thoughts. Your using the term cute..like your granny would use it to describe your FB pic. Cute means hott to most guys..
