Ex

I hope your weekend is good too

I hope you can deal with the difficulties and emerge well!

Jenny, decision has been made - this is going to be one lazy weekend, only movies, warm tea or coffee, some nice food, and a nap in between...
I am dealing with all life is serving me, Jenny, just lose my breath sometimes seeing what's on the table

The GOOD OLD 90% rule. Learned in the last RETAIL environment I was working with/in their "MANTRA" was "We want to make 90% of our customers 100% HAPPY!". And they put that in the form of a sign on an eisel just inside the front entrance to their showroom. It ALWAYS brought a ton of questions, and the simple explanation is very similar to what you've said, "There's ALWAYS about 10% of the population that will NEVER BE SATISFIED, no matter what you do! You can GIVE the product away and cover the install costs completely and they'll STILL find something to bitch about with your effort. So, we don't care about "TRYING" to make them happy, we want to focus on the other 90%, those are OUR KINFD OF PEOPLE!!!"

I like this thinking and approach. I should print and frame that mantra and keep it somewhere where I can see it as a reminder.

I can tend to be a little cynical. The life lessons have taught me to protect myself at all costs. It does take a special person to break through all that.

ExNameForUse replies on 1/21/2023 3:19 am:
You are a wise lady, Dreamy.
I am still learning and lessons keep coming.
The problem is when I set boundaries I feel enormous guilt, as though I haven't been giving enough chances, and some people are hard to keep outside of my world, in hope they will learn their lessons, like my son, for example, who I miss every single second, and cant stop asking myself if I am doing the right thing, will he understand one day certain things, and so on, and so on...
As for the others, my ex partners, ex husband, current partner, some friends... what can I say... I haven't been cynical enough. It is all my fault.
