Posted on F e t the other day the same thing as here about the visa petition, and got some comments that made me think about reasons for writing and commenting. It feels as if some will write or comment even without some basic knowledge or understanding of what they write or comment about. What is behind that attitude to belittle someone, without any reason at all? What kind of people are we becoming?

Ex my friend💋...these are good sentiments I try to live by not always successfully ALAS sometimes I have to cut loose on some of the MORONS who populate this site. Some of these people need to be taken to task. However it always ruins my day when I let myself get agitated...😥

ExNameForUse replies on 4/19/2023 7:34 am:
Thank you for your understanding, my dear Brandy... sometimes some people make me feel all confused with their nastiness coming out of nowhere like I am 2, not 52... especially when it is coming from someone who knows nothing, nada, zero about me, my life, my relationship, why I need so much that visa, etc...

Thank you for sharing, Ex

The distance (and anonymity) created by social media does not suspend The Rules of Life.
About six years ago, I decided to follow some sage advice and refrain from saying something in writing that I would not say to someone in person. At the same time, I decided to refuse to be baited into responding to those who tried to engage me in a negative manner or to try to explain my jokes to those who did not understand them.
Life has been much better ever since.

ExNameForUse replies on 4/19/2023 7:39 am:
I have responded and tried to explain, yet only caused another belittling comment.
That is when I just thanked the person for the comment and opinion.
I should have just moved on and left it as it was. It was not my shame.

He means, tearing others down doesn’t build us up.

It's too bad many people can't get this through their thick skulls. There is one pissing contest here in the blogs that seems to have no end in sight.

I'm with Thumper ..... Don't have anything nice to say? Move on .....

Reading those comments on Fet I got on my visa petitions post made me think as though some will write and comment only for the sake of writing and commenting without basic understanding or knowledge about what they write or comment on. The saddest part is the more they try to prove their righteousness, the more they prove how superficial and close-minded they are.

I was brought up if you can’t say something nice be quiet but also to stand up defend myself or others
w phs & social media so prevalent it’s easy to think out loud anonymously sometimes that gets misconstrued thru words read as you can’t hear their tone of voice or a laugh to fully comprehend how it was meant to be taken!
also a persons mood comes into play as they write or read things which can escalate things morphing into something far from the intended thought! I’m guilty at times of lashing out & being judgmental!

ExNameForUse replies on 4/20/2023 12:29 am:
I fully understand what you are saying, BDD.
It is something that can easily happen, and those kind of misconceptions is easy to overcome with a few additional words of explanation, if there is a will on both sides.
That is a situation I wouldnt waste my time or space here.
Situation I had wasnt like that, and that was the reason to post about.
Let alone the arrogancy and some imaginery 'height' that I have been addressed and questioned about my intentions or reasons for applying for the UK visa, suggesting I am liar, and faking the truth.
I can only presume that the person has been commenting from her own point of view, as it is something she would do, hence thinking evwryone else would, too.

We're all in the same game,
just different levels.
Dealing with the same hell,
just different devils.

We are sensible creatures, we have that beautiful possibility to choose how to behave, to educate ourselves, to learn manners... crawling in the mud of arrogance and supremity certainly is not my level of expertise.

Depending if differing opinions are welcome, they should not be hateful or resort to name calling. If differing opinions are not welcome, move on.

ExNameForUse replies on 4/19/2023 7:56 am:
Different opinions are always welcome, presumable they are in touch with reality and common sense as well as presented in an open, decent, non-aggressive, non-humiliating manner.

Live and let live even if it's not your idea of living.

ExNameForUse replies on 4/19/2023 8:41 pm:
It is good to hear different opinions and perceptions. Sometimes they can be eye-opening and help us see things clearly, understand them better. I would expect my friends to be like that.
Sharing the info about petition twas just that, sharing the info, whether someone is willing to help.
It was sad and funny at the same time to read how some people are convinced they know better than you what and who you are.
Pathetic.

"So be kind, because every person is fighting a battle you know nothing about."

Words to ponder. This should be taught from generation to generation and at the earliest age it can be understood.

ExNameForUse replies on 4/19/2023 7:59 am:
It is always sad to see how harsh and closed-minded people can be until life humbles them and teach them a lesson of humility and manners.

When I was a subscriber to kink dot com a few years ago, I was always amazed at how intolerant some pople were in their comments to the updates.
I am sure many thought they were very open-minded, but had no idea how they came off complaining about how this model did (or didn't) wear shoes/stockings or had implants that were off-kilter or who had certain limits for that day's shoot.
I mean, while the models did earn money, there they were, on camera, willingly accepting pain, discomfort and humiliation on camera for the world to see. They deserved respect, and, for every person who prefers them to be barefoot during a scene, there's someone who likes the shoes.

Intolerance speaks more of its owner, rather than of the object of that intolerance.

That is one of the reasons, i am not on all those - ANTI - social media.

ExNameForUse replies on 4/19/2023 11:13 am:
It was a bit of a surprise that someone who is not even a UK citizen put a comment, and another one, and another one, each a little harsher than the previous one, on something that doesn't even concern them... on a platform where presumable open-minded people strive for... still don't understand what triggered such attitude in my post.

Exname
Yes, i did read her/his comments, going on and on.
i thought; what is your problem?
Why attack? something that is to no concern to them??
Nasty folks are everywhere, alas

I hope that lashing out to your writing made their day!
Silly behaviour, Bleagh!! amp;

ExNameForUse replies on 4/20/2023 1:26 pm:
It was completely unnecessary, you are right, Rosa.
Nothing offensive said, unlike comments received.
Sad to read what some folks are capable for.. thank you, Rosa

Ex, you are absolutely correct. The only reason you should ever look down on someone is to help them up. Everyone IS fighting a battle that we don't know about. Great post.xx

Thank you, M. Nothing more to add or say as I would only repeat myself.
It is how we treat other people that speaks all about who we are xx
