The jester

My jester is funny.
My jester is Witty.
My jester is Compassionate and gentle.
He resisted his role believing that he was being made a fool of, but the jester is an important person within the kingdom. It was his stories that entertained the people, and were often passed from town to town. It was his wisdom in knowing when to joke and laugh or when a tale of tragedy was needed. It was him that people turned to when they were feeling down or wanted to unload.

So my dear jester, I see you not as the traditional clown that performs in a circus, but as a confidant, and a bringer of smiles. My puzzle would not be complete without your piece.

We don’t all have to be knights or princesses, kings or queens. The lucky ones may be jesters.

 You are very correct a jester is not a clown.

Humour is used to mask many things.
