Even in this day and age most will immediately associate this word with the Carly Simon song sung, as the ketchup is slowly, taking it's time to leave the bottle... But my mind goes right to the naughty side of my brain or the gutter if you prefer... Anticipation is the probability or expectation of something happening... It is also a feeling of excitement about something that is going to happen in the near future... My only concern is not fantasying to much about a potential experience, that will probably be different than a real life experience... Which is a actual phenomenon. My blog name is the name of a book. That a early Dom of mine wanted me to read. It discusses dissecting a upcoming experience to much. And how it has the potential to minimize your real experience.. While I tried not to do that on my cruise last year, I think I did it a bit... Instead of just enjoying, all the unique and individual experiences I would have... All of this information about the cruise from family, did influence my thoughts... All in all there is nothing wrong with anticipating... Just don't let it determine or influence your real life experience! ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~

Well stated. When I am in a situation of anticipation like you are describing I like to clear my mind during it, it’s one of the most freeing feelings I have felt..... clear headed and high anticipation at the same time

I was always taught you need three things in life to be happy; someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to . . . I suppose someone to look up to would count, don't you?
