They come and they go. "One Big Sky Covers Us All Equally"

Is what stood out to me driving 1,600 miles over the weekend.... I drove through 7states to get to my destination. And the first constant was the bad roads. Where it felt like I was on a roller coaster many times. Huge bumps, potholes, and rough patch jobs.. Now the big trucks. I worked in the transportation for 14 years... I know how vital their cargo is to the economy. But they act like they own the road. I have never been cut off so many times in my life. Where I had to use my brakes to slow down 20 or 30 mph from the speed I was going. And how frustrating is it when it takes 10 minutes for one truck to pass another.. And my last rant is this.. When you are holding up traffic in the left lane.. move the fuck over.... I am trying to make time and am not out for a social visit.. Be respectful and move over.. Where has any kind of common sense gone when we are driving down the road?? ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~

Where has any kind of common sense gone when we are driving down the road?? Unfortunately, an absence of common sense isn't confined to just driving. Nope. Common sense has become very uncommon. Make Women Female Again

But they act like they own the road.. . . .In fact they might own the road ~ On average, a typical 80,000 pound GVW tractor-trailer truck pays $13,889 per year in truck highway taxes according to the above data. A hypothetical auto owner driving 20,000 miles per year at 25 mpg, and paying $100 in registration fees. Rather than blaming trucks for the condition of the roads we might take a look at the federal government that collects all of the D.O.T. fees . . . Remember this is the same government that spends one an ahalf cents to make a penny.

Truckers do have a demanding job, and many are true professionals, but way too many think the road belongs to them. I don't know about other states, but in mine, they say they need to raise this tax, or will use the funds from that tax to repair the roads, and they enact it, the tax that is, but never the repair work. Depending on how bad the road is, several people have sued the state for damages to their car and won.

Bad roads, bad repairs, potholes, trucks taking a long time to pass. Hold on, you sure your not in the UK? But yes the trucks are vital to the economy. I once witnessed an arguement between a car driver & a truck driver. Car drive - "You think you own the road" truck driver pointing to his windscreen - "If you check my tax disc I think you'll find I DO.

pac That is one heck of a lot of driving! Yes , big trucks are a menace and they terrify me.... A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw Jenny

The truckers are not the only ones to transport goods. The trains and ships deliver large amounts of products to industry’s. And trains move containers that trucks transport. So don’t act like the trucking industry is the only industry moving goods. True, but the ships and trains aren't what you're bitching about and I'm pretty up to speed on where your merchandise is coming from. I am a truck driver, a courteous truck driver. I see plenty of people that shouldn't be driving cars too. I love the ones that play road race and cut across 3 or 4 lanes of traffic, no signals in front of me the most.
