Back at the golf course...

Was wonderful! Even with the heat... pac joined up with another single player for a enjoyable round of golf...

He was drinking beer in his cart while pac was guzzling Gatorade and water... Pretty obvious was use too the heat... All those fluids did help on the back nine when one gets tired though...

You never know what you will see at a golf course, as the coyote pics show.

The beautiful sky pics were at the end of a good day... Az sunsets are really something and should be over water not a dirt road...

I need to find time to golf again. Those pics look great. Seeing the coyote reminds me of golfing right at dawn in Albuquerque. The rough along some fairways were filled with prairie dog burrows and the prairie dogs would be half popped the holes. It was like having a gallery as long as we kept our balls in the fairway.

I know exactly what you mean as I have done the majority of my golfing in Abq... Sandia, plus the 2 Bernallio courses were my favorite courses. Even though I have golfed all over the state...

This course is right in the middle of the city...
Hard to see in the pics though...
But there's no wooded areas..

Thanks for your thoughts..

We see coyotes frequently at my club. Javelinas are rare. Rattlers very rare. I can travel to Tucson if we can set up a match.

Set up a match?? How about we talk first?? Just saying..

And I do have rattle snake pics from NM, not Az.. As unlikely as that is..

Wow! If I golfed, the most I could hope to see around here would be deer, foxes and squirrels. Not quite up to coyote level!

pac369 replies on 9/17/2021 3:42 pm:
And I would love to see that kind of scenery Suzy.. Never even saw deer when I was in Wisconsin...

You never what will show up on the golf course, it's really amazing...

A coyote on a golf course would be something new for me. Aligators, sure. But not coyotes.

pac369 replies on 9/17/2021 3:43 pm:
Alligators would probably freak me out... And I know I would never look around the water for my ball...

Thanks for your thoughts...

The coyote looks pretty comfortable !

pac369 replies on 9/17/2021 3:45 pm:
That coyote didn't give a shit as it layed down in the middle of the fairway.. I could not believe how relaxed it was either..

Things that make you go hmmmm..

on a par three, I landed my tee shot about three feet from the cup.As I pulled my cart up, two coyote pups came out from the bushes and started taking turns chewing on my golf ball. So I figured , mama must be close by, decided best to just let them have their fun. I took a birdie. Fuck em, they chewed up a $5 Titleist..!

pac

Lovely pics Are the coyotes tame? Do they ever attack golfers?

The scenery is wonderful though

pac369 replies on 9/18/2021 6:46 am:
No.. the coyotes are not tame Jenny... They just become comfortable around people.. If a opportunity presented itself, your pet, or young child for instance, they might just attack... I always keep a safe distance from them. And would use a golf club to defend myself if one ever tried to attack me..

Glad you liked the pics...

Coyotes are looking for food. They generally don't attack people but if you're walking a small dog on a leash they consider the dog food. The best thing to carry when walking a dog is a Super Shooter Water Gun using a mix of 10% ammonia and 90% water. My community recently had a visit from AZ Fish&Game regional director to speak about coyotes and others. He mentioned the water gun and preferred it over a noise making grogger.

Ok… I know I said similar things in the comments above..
But certainly appreciate the knowledge from the Fish and Wildlife guy..

Thanks for sharing that information…
