How can this even happen... In America... Where a woman is sexually assaulted and ra*ped on a Philadelphia commuter train. The suspect harassed her for 40 minutes while people not only watched, but held up their phones 2 record the assault. No one intervened. The suspect continues his harassment, which leads 2 groping and the eventual ra*e of her... Again, no one attempts 2 help her, their only concerns recording the assault. The victim is fortunate a transit employee reported "something" wasn't right. As he called 911. Police arrived within 3 minutes. Where the suspect was detained and the woman was rescued. Is this really where our vanilla society is at? A practical "mob" mentality, with no one willing 2 stop this assault. How do they look at themselves in the mirror? This is something pac expects to hear about in a third world country. The transit system said there are 28,000 cameras on it's system. So... these watchers, who chose not 2 help, were likely being watched. The victim is working with police. She did not know the suspect. He is still in jail on charges of ra*e, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and more. Hopefully he will be there a long, long, time! ~ Physical strength is measured by what we carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear. ~ |

It's a sad statement about our society.

What in the actual fuck?! Not a single fucking man with a set of balls on that train to stop it!? Unbelievable!

Wow I cannot fathom watching this unfold. Our society is so focused on capturing moments that we cannot stand up for someone who needs help. Even if your truly scared call 911 or transit authorities.

Hopefully that list of charges is what is going to happen to him in prison. Well said pac. Regards.

In a country with more guns than people, with rampant knife crime and with someone obviously totally out of his head I can understand reluctance to get involved. What I cannot understand is videoing the whole experience. Most Western societies seem to be going downhill Over here you would probably get arrested for assault if you fought with the guy. Sad times. Not quite sure it is Biden's fault. What an idiotic thing to say.

All I can say is.....put down the damn phone !

Yeah, people nowadays are more interested in recording a criminal event, rather than trying to intervene. Of course, one's own safety should be paramount, but for so many people not to try and help, it's just sickening. A few years ago, a guy on the Metro system got stabbed to death, and even though people were around who could have done something about, no one stepped forward to help. Makes me wonder if the passengers on flight 93 had decided to just record the hijacking of their plane, rather than to try and take control of the plane.

Empathy has died, unfortunately, and the basic human instinct to help each other has faded away. It happens everywhere, Pac. The world we are living in is turning into a scary place where we are each other's biggest enemies. Not to mention that "capturing moments" lifestyle, as Greybrow well noticed. Sad reality.

This is a direct result from the castration of males in this society. Men are afraid to be men and also have no idea what a man is required to do in regard to protecting women and those who cannot protect themselves. Not getting involved is not an option. This is woke at its most dangerous and having lived in Philadelphia years ago, this never would have happened back then. Now we are castrating our military too with feel good shit. So pathetic. No veteran would have put up with this for 30 seconds.

That is truely terrible pac. Even if you are too scared to intervene yourself you should at least call the police. The only reason to continue filming should be to provide evidence at his trial, but call the police first & foremost. Although you'd hope someone would make a more active intervention.

It is bad in society nowadays that people do not always intervene - the perp could be weaponised in some way, and you just don't know what you could be getting in to. As for filming it , that is just a new low in humanity when recording for FB is more important than trying to dissuade the dirty bastard ....... sure it is good evidence for the police, but the CCTV is installed for that very reason.
