Bunker coyotes...

It was a different day on the course yesterday... The weather was overcast and in the high 70's... With no wind... Just a perfect golf day!

The coyotes even appeared confused by the weather... T o see two different coyotes in the same bunker... Not normal at all...

Never in my 12 years of playing has pac seen this... One of her playing partners, who lives in Alaska, was even taking video's of the coyotes. Just illustrating how rare it is...

While pac has seen coyotes on almost every course in the South West that she has played on. The comfort level of these particular coyotes, around people, at this course is a bit unsettling!

Nice pics Pac.
I went golfing Monday for the first time in many years. I need to make it a semi-regular thing. It has always been hard to make time. We will see if I can change that fact.

Thanks Grey...

Glad you made it to the course. And hopefully you will keep it up..
Just remember, beautiful scenery, fresh air, what's not to like?

coyotes generally hunt alone or in pairs. Generally speaking, they are afraid of humans. Yell, throw a rock at them, swing a club, and they will run away. But not unlikely they will try an attack if you have a dog with you, if they are really hungry.
I golf mostly desert courses in Palm Springs and L/Vegas areas. And usually during the summer when it's hot and very few people around. Always seeing coyotes and usually at the end of the day when the course if very still and quite. And courses with coyotes all have one thing in common...rabbits!
It's a fuckin smorgasbord for them. ..!!

No doubt SD...

There are rabbits everywhere, including squirrels, and chipmunks... And like you I mostly see them at dusk..

It was just strange they were out at 1:00 pm yesterday..

I'm sure them being there could be unnerving.

For sure drmgirl...

You still have to remember they are wild, no matter how tame they act..

It is not a good thing that they are not scared of humans.

They won't walk right up to you like..
And if you make a move to charge them they will run the opposite way...

It's just the casual way they wander around on the course... Have not seen the coyotes like this at other courses...

pac

I DO love the pics

Are the coyotes a treat to humans? What happens if a golf ball lands near or hits one?

Thanks Jenny...

If your ball gets to close to them, you would use your cart to scare them. They don't like the loud noise close to them. If no cart... I would use a club to make noise close to them so they would move..

I know of no one shooting coyotes to eat them. Only as a nuisance when threating farmers livestock, or over population...
