Body Parts...

Is a limited series. Focusing on the work of an Anaplastologist. ( Ana-plas-tologist). Who uses her skills in art and science t o create body parts. She is almost like a mad scientist in her library. Doing drawings, making molds and mixing colors for skin tones. The TLC network gave a description saying "Oftentimes, her prosthetics go undetected thanks t o the skillful combination of skin". Talk about a fulfilling profession!

pac has watched two shows so far. She has replaced a "full nose" from a cancer patient who lost his. Try t o imagine the stigma and isolation of not having your nose. The face doesn't look right or symmetrical in any way without a nose...

A beautiful young woman born without her right ear, endured 18 surgeries. Where her ear just became t o mangled for any more. The ear replacement is unbelievable as the pic shows. Covering the mangled ear and matching her other ear...

Another female cancer patient had a total mastectomy. New breasts were created, without nipples! Who would do that for a female. Nipples are part of the breasts. And should have been included with reconstructive surgery...

pac's favorite was a mother who lost both her hands to sepsis. Hand replacements were made. There were wires inside the fingers. So she could move the fingers and grasp things. They slid up her forearms and matched her skin perfectly. It really was a amazing sight!

Hopefully none of us would ever need services like this. But isn't it nice t o know there is someone, and a profession dedicated to replicating body parts!

I watched these 2 shows too, and it's amazing what she can do, not just as an artist, but for people's lives, it's a true blessing.

A coworker's son had a prosthetic nose and it looked terrible. I'm sure the technology has improved.

Howling at the moon and mal ad osteo.
