You must appreciate the journey to find fulfillment When I started to mull this post in my head, it was going to be a rant about what was wrong and bad with people and this site. As I thought about it more, I realized I would be violating one of my most important approaches to life. The outcome of an event is directly determined by your response to it. {E + R = O} Since my most recent run at putting myself out there in the kink community I realized that much has changed. However as much as things may change they do often rhyme. I was discouraged by the quantity of scammers, fakes, outright idiots and self-absorbed assholes. But then I realized that my memory from before was mostly of the positives that I encountered and enjoyed. I can’t say if the magnitude of idiocy is more or maybe even less. I can say with surety that it was indeed there. I’ve been hit on by quite the number of alleged Dommes (that obviously are incapable of viewing a profile), but as I think back, that was the case then as well. The abundancy of the scammers and fakes can be truly overwhelming. I can’t help but wonder what their game is (other than draining some poor fool’s bank account.) This isn’t limited to a gender (if you can indeed trust what a profile says.) I had come to regret spending the few bucks to up my membership level. But frankly in the scheme of things, this amount is insignificant. If a positive result is attained it is but a drop in a vast ocean. I hope that a few serious standard members may read the last couple of sentences. I can say with a strong degree of certainty that I have eliminated a bunch of people (out of the billions inhabiting this planet) from consideration. How’s that for stretching for the positive? If I can come away with a few like-minded friends I will be satisfied, maybe still a little frustrated, but good none-the-less. We can learn and explore together if we so choose. One person’s answer may just be the start of another’s journey. I know that there is a great deal of experience out there and maybe a little wisdom to be shared. It only takes a willingness to try. I have noted by many of the blog postings that I’ve read here that the, how shall I say this…., people with more life experiences, do tend to be more philosophical about the lifestyle and in fact life itself. Without getting up on the proverbial soapbox, “Listening is a skill that we would all benefit from.” May you find that for which you search and get what you deserve. Mojo |
