The first time I was very young, very fresh faced, curly blonde hair and a very good singing voice. My mum and her friends would often ask me to sing for them and I was very happy to oblige. One day, a friend of my mum said why don't you dress him up, put him in some girl's clothes, he could then do a few songs for us all dressed up. Mum was very keen on this idea as I think she secretly wanted a girl and liked the idea of dressing me up, so for the next show, I had a white frilly dress, frilly panties (white), white ankle socks and a pair of white shoes with a red bow on the front of them. Wow, I looked like a proper girl, even had a bit of lipstick and rouge on as well. Needless to say the 'concert' went well and I got a lot of applause, however, the best part of all for me was how I felt in my new clothes. I felt fantastic! Even at that young age, I knew that this was going to be a feeling I would have for the rest of my life. That first day opened my eyes to a whole new life, one I have not looked back on and one in which I have been comfortable ever since. |

Hello Davina It is good that your mother was so encouraging at such an early age, and does avoid the difficult questions in later life. My mum caught me wearing her old discarded tights in the bath, and was suitably disgusted - she has passed now, but what she would make of me now is open to many questions. Live the life and wear what you feel most comfortable in. All the very best Davina-Jane xx
