A coiled network cable is a nice “pervetable” implement if you enjoyed the hose. The copper in the cable gives it more mass with a strike delivered to a smaller area. Not unlike a single tail in its feel. Mind the tendency to wrap.

Good use of the hose during winter while it isn't needed in the garden

I found a good thing is a willow or birch switch, and they leave some real good welts.
