 While I found them a bit "over the top" and was bored with the male on male narratives. I've enjoyed the books

 I had the pleasure of meeting Anne Rice at a book signing in N.O. many years ago. Very nice lady, not at all what you would expect. The trilogy is ok, maybe over the top but as long as you keep in mind it is just a story from a writers mind it’s good. Like the Story of o, take it or leave it. It’s not for everyone. She asked if I had read any of the vampire books and such and I said no, just was not interested. I decided to write some short stories later after meeting her. I had all kind of reactions to them from different people. So I adopted a patented answer for those that said to hard, cruel, violent etc……it was “I bet you don’t say that about Anne Rice”. Some would say “who” and I would consider the source and move on lol!
