A fun and versatile tool for sensation play is the Wartenberg pinwheel.
It was invented as a medical instrument to test nerve responses. It is used by rolling the pinwheel over the skin.
The pinwheel has evenly spaces spikes on a roller with an ergonomic handle. A similar instrument is used in sewing to trace patterns from a paper patterns to material by perforating the paper and the material. Pinwheels can come with one or multiple wheels.
Some people say the more wheels the less sensation, even though it LOOKS more ominous, because more skin is affected simultaneously, spreading out the sensation instead of magnifying it.
You can use the pinwheel to elicit sensations from tickling to pain depending on how much pressure you exert with the handle. The more pressure you exert, the deeper the pinwheel will dig into the skin. Exert enough pressure and you will likely draw blood. Light pressure, especially on the soles of the feet, will produce a tickling sensation. Obviously, care should be taken using the wheel around the face, especially the eyes. You don’t want to puncture an eye.
There are also wheels designed to connect to eStim machines to deliver electro shocks.
The wheel, because it is usually made of stainless steel, can also be heated or frozen for added temperature play. Even the handle can be used to tap on sensitive areas of the body.
Used after impact play, the sensations are increased due to the increased blood flow below the skin and the skin is more sensitive to touch of any kind.
Depending on how you use the wheel, it should be cleaned with any toy cleaner or even boiled in hot water, unless it is made of plastic. This is especially important if you draw blood with the wheel or are using the wheel on more than one person.
Suggested aftercare with the wheel is using moisturizer or body lotion and massaging the areas rolled over.
Almost all sexual toy stores will have Wartenberg wheels. The cost is relatively inexpensive, if you’d like more than one.
Like any implement in BDSM, safety should always come first, and consent is required, especially for the more intense pressure that draws blood and causes the most pain.

Very interesting. I didn't know about this device. Mmmmm using it on a submissives skin after a spanking sounds... Diabolical🤪

I am told over and over as the wheel rolls over my labias that my clit stands up and twitches.

I like playing with my Wartenberg - I'm always surprised at the reaction it elicits from my slave.
